Major/Minor: Mathematics & Native American Studies Brief Biography: My name is Tyonek Glee Ogemageshig, which translates to "Little Chief of the Sky". I am White Earth Pembina Indian from Minnesota from my father, and I am Mexican from my mother. I am eagle clan, or as we say "migizi endodem". I have a sister, which makes me an Uncle to four amazing kids. At Dartmouth College, I was President (or Tribal Chair) of the Native Americans at Dartmouth (NAD). I was a member of the Occum Pond Singers. I was known as "Neek" or as the "Gleechild" and had a radio show called "The Red Power Pow-Wow Hour". Achievements: Let those who know me be the ones to speak to this. What are you doing now? I am a Grants Revenue Specialist for the Quinault Indian Nation in Washington state. I spend my time volunteering on my reservation by tutoring, organizing and assisting with community wide dinners and events, traditional fishing, chopping wood and cleaning yards of elders, founding a native running club called taptaana, being the best Brother, Uncle, and Son I can be to my family, and taking care of my daughter Why did you pledge? To understand my Mexican roots better and because I believe in La Unidad Latina and what it stands for. Favorite moment as a Hermano: My favorite moment as a cabellero was pledging at the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC. My favorite moments as a Hermano was being the Line Dean for Gamma Line. It was an honor to serve as that role for them. I am proud of who they have become today and of all Hermanos doing it, Brown (native) and Gold (kings) style.
