'Los Guardianes'
Line Name: La Dovela
Graduating Class: 2010
Major/Minor: Asian and Middle Eastern Languages: Chinese modified with Native American Studies Brief Biography: I grew up in Seattle, WA and Pittsburgh, PA before coming to Dartmouth College. I pledged LUL during the fall of my junior year, and the leadership and service opportunities that subsequently arose changed the course of my last two years (for the better)! I loved the communities that I formed at Dartmouth and decided to stay for medical school as part of the Class of 2014. Achievements: • Co-Student Director for National Internships- Tucker Foundation
What are you doing now? I am currently finishing medical school and will next head back to Seattle, WA for residency in anesthesiology. Why did you pledge? I was looking for a way to engage on campus through an organization that was structurally dedicated to leadership and service, and I was also seeking opportunities to build close-knit bonds as part of a brotherhood. I learned about LUL at the right place at the right time, and I have never regretted my decision to pledge! Favorite moment as a Hermano: Spending time with my line brothers - we have learned so much about each other that it's always easy to pick up conversations even after having been apart. Advice to interested men: Carefully consider if a smaller, leadership and service-dedicated organization like LUL is right for you - if it is, go for it with all your heart! |
