Major/Minor: History Brief Biography: I was born and raised in San Francisco, but my family is from Nicaragua. I went to Dartmouth to see something different and definitely found it. My mother raised me and my brother (who is 17 years older). I attended an all boys catholic high school and found it to be a good experience. There was somewhat of a feeling of brotherhood among those whom I considered friends. I went there because the public school system in San Francisco is horrible and my mother was over protective. Achievements: • President of the Psi Chapter for 1 year • President of La Alianza for 1 year • Played Varsity football for 3 years at Dartmouth • Led DGLP service trip to Honduras • Went on the CCESP trip to Nicaragua • DPCS intern in San Francisco and worked with kids for Easter Seals • Administrative Intern for the Financial Aid office. What are you doing now? Living at home in San Francisco working on building a career in HR or Advertising. Why did you pledge? I wanted a deeper sense of brotherhood than I was witnessing in the mainstream system. I also wanted to be a part of an organization that stood for more than just partying. I felt comfortable and liked by the Hermanos I met, and I felt like they really wanted to get to know me and tell me more about the La Unidad. Favorite moment as a Hermano: Having my Neos cross. I loved having new brothers in my life, and the process showed me the meaning of Hermandad. Also Step and Stroll shows are AMAZING! And having great Noche Doradas--Lots of great moments! Advice to interested men: Take your time. Get to know the bros well. The decision will change your life completely, so make sure you're in it for sure 100%, and for the right reasons. |
